Finally had time to check this out. New mechanic took a while to get used to, but it's fun once you get it. I was going for every strawberry first, but after seeing them later i decided to pass on the later ones.
I agree. I think that the main difference is that Madeline's mechanics allow her to move much more freely than Lana. her dashes go in all directions, while lana just allows a mid air jump if there is a wall nearby, (which madeline is already better at), and Lana can pull herself close to walls from barely farther than madeline, and she can stick to walls for as long as she wants but its not possible to climb them. the only way lana is better is her mid-air jump (if she is near walls) is infinite.
Is this a teaser for Celeste 2? if so, can't wait. I've done Celeste 100% (except all golden berries) 3 times (but i got the flying golden berry all the times), and I love it. Awesome game, keep it up
First run, great game! I loved the music and this new core mechanic was really well made and well put on use! I feel like it would fit pretty well on a bigger game. I discovered Celeste only a while ago and saw this game recommended on my itch home page, and damn it's so fun
I might as well replay it to get the berries I left behind (I got all I found except for one, changed scenarios accidentally).
Great to see this having just played Celeste for the first time recently. There's some weird added momentum in the jumping mechanic which makes it difficult to stick a landing with accuracy, though not bad for a game made in three days!
Would be nice if the composers on Celeste actually got paid after 2 years of not getting their fare share. Just sad... I will never buy or play another MMG game.
Please don't blame the dev team, they have nothing to do with this. Blame Materia Collective, who's responsible for the B-side soundtrack publishing and payment.
Do you really think that if it was the dev's team fault she would have participated in the creation of the soundtrack of THIS game? This, Celeste 2, that was made recently, and has her name on the opening screen?
Imagine having a full beautiful game like Celeste with these mechanics, like, literally Celeste 2? That would be great, a sequel with a new main character (which I love the design btw) I like to think both the Celeste Classic games were uploaded to see the community's opinion on it and maybe, just maybe, make a full game.
I think the new mechanic is really good, but it's not nearly as satisfying as the dash mechanic from Celeste, it's too strict and doesn't let you choose your path of flight, you can only go in a straight line, left or right and jump mid-air, which doesn't let the player be creative with where they want to go.

The game was hella fun, i got the 16 berries in 24 minutes.
But in the options, you can change P2 controllers. ¡¿Is there any coop?!

one point to make, is I think that you should add another player mechanic, as this one isnt as free as Celeste 1
grappling hooks are the best idea in games, by far. Awesome entry in the celeste universe

Also, it is possible to escape that end hole, but there isn't much
but you cant even get up past the pit's tileset
you can escape the pit and get ti the land above, but after that there are no walls to go any higher.
I did it by tether jumping and wall jumping on the right side of the pit and turning left to tether the lip

Very fun game. I loved how such simple mechanics were used in many different ways.
